I am coming back to guild wars and I only bought the original campaign so far. I wanna play a non-pyro elementalist for pve and fun

I am having trouble finding builds. I don't really care about the secondary class as long as it's fun. I was looking at echo nukers, el/n drainers, and el/w mostly. I'm open to other classes too but I don't want a challenging class. Ideally I'd like to have a pet or minion but whatever. How these builds? Which is best?

You're an elementalist, no pets or minions please, leave those to their respective class.

That build you posted with mist form is fine for farming ancient koos, but nothing else really.

A good secondary for ele is as you said, mesmer for echo, and since you're proph only you're pretty limited to that.

I was thinking about subbing necro for the heals/minions early on with a mostly earth/air focused ele. Is mesmer a better option?

Since you want mostly to have fun, "better" is a very subjective concept. I had fun running water build in maguuma for example. You can try to heal as an elementalist, with monk as your secondary (it can be fun if you like to heal, and you can leave Alesia at home).

Earth/Air could be nice because you got some defence (wards) and spike ability. I wouldn't go minion master though..if you want to control minions make a new necromancer IMHO.

Mesmer as secondary can be useful for echo nuking and for farming, but i'm sure you can have fun with it in other ways too.

I didn't understand when you say that you want to go solo..did you mean H/H (well, only henchmen in your case) or with only you in your party?

If you mean farming, eles can go solo in a lot of different places, just look at the pvxwiki http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page in the farming section

I"m still working on my ele, but I took necro as my secondary. I"m looking into being my own BiP. Plus it seems like like it has a lot to offer so that's what I would suggest.

Not really, I only play pophecies and have a great time. I bought Factions and could not stand it. I still however, can do anything prophecies related without any trouble. It's all opinion, but hey if he wants an all prophecies build actually help don't just tell him to buy more games.

Doesn't work. BiP is target OTHER ally. You can't use it on yourself.

Oh weak, Well Pools are still and option. I also think that a lot of the stuff in the curse department is handy. ( in fun PVE builds ) I'll get back with some exact skills.
